I made 2 of these working clocks a few years ago as large Halloween props and sold them to private collectors. They stood about 25 inches tall.
The cabinet was made from plywood, scrap lumber, and those plastic wedding cake pillars that I always have laying around. I'm a fan of architecture so I admire the detail in these little Ionic columns. The clock face was sculpted from Epoxy clay on a wood round. I used a battery operated clock kit with a pendulum from the hobby shop and upgraded the clock hands to something more ornate. The whole was finished in oil paints, varnished, and waxed. I think they looked great, like something from Sirius Black's house at 12 Grimmauld Place.

That is a great clock. Love the facial expression. :)
I have admired this clock in your slide show for sometime. It is interesting to learn how it was made. What makes this clock however is the marvelous sculpture you made for the clock face. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
